Relationship Coach: A Professional Guide Who Helps You
- Transform Your Life To Prepare For A New Relationship or
- Transform Your Current Relationship Into One More Loving, Fulfilling, And Intimate
Dr. Sherrie Allen is an author, depth psychologist, facilitator, television host, dating coach, relationship strategist, teacher, and mentor. As a relationship alchemist, she works with both singles and couples to shift their limiting beliefs and expectations and to manifest their heart’s golden desires in all areas of their lives. She uses multiple methodologies and tools gathered from over 30 years of study and experience working with clients.
Dr. Allen has designed and conducted hundreds of relationship seminars and workshops with her husband, Melvin, for couples, singles, and organizations across the United States. Dr. Allen adapted the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) into a relationship tool in order to help her clients understand the dynamics of personal and intimate relationships. Using the MBTI® instrument as a relationship tool, clients are able to understand their own personality preference, and if they have a partner, the personality preference of their partner. Dr. Allen believes that the tension in most relationships has to do with opposing personality preferences, and that tension can be resolved by understanding and utilizing this powerful relationship tool with the help of a knowledgeable guide like herself. This tool and more are explored in the book she wrote with her husband, The Allen Method: Four Alchemical Steps to Creating and Sustaining Lasting and Loving Relationships.

In addition to working with couples to understand their personality preferences and how they affect relationship dynamics, Dr. Allen works with single clients in relationship training programs to help them gain clarity and direction for their future relationships. The Allen Group Relationship Training Program for Singles is designed to support singles in creating a vision for both their romantic relationships and their lives in general. This program offers important fundamental relationship tools to support singles in gaining useful insights and self-awareness about their relationship blind spots. Singles learn the importance of understanding themselves, first, since self-awareness is their key to singles making smart choices around romantic relationships. For that purpose, the Singles program is a requirement for anyone who wishes to work with her one-on-one as well.

Her therapeutic tools and techniques assist her clients into new levels of awareness that transform them personally, bringing out their gold, and then make their relationships, either the ones they dream of (for singles) or the ones they already have (for couples), more golden as well.
Dr. Allen holds a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology (a field of psychology that explores the unconscious personality and its effect on our lives), and two Master’s degrees in Depth Psychology and Spiritual Psychology. In addition, she’s a certified MTBI® practitioner. Dr. Allen has appeared on the NBC hit reality show Starting Over, numerous radio shows, various social media platforms, and academic conferences around the country. Guidance for Professional Women
As a depth psychologist, Dr. Sherrie Allen uses C. G. Jung’s work on typology and the unconscious to help individuals understand their personality types with the Myers Briggs Typology Indicator. Using the MBTI instrument, singles and couples discover how and why their personality type either compliments or may cause conflicts in their relationship. When we understand our personality preference and how that personality preference operates unconsciously, we are able to understand and take responsibility for those relationships with the people we love, cherish, and respect.
As a certified Myers Briggs practitioner and Relationship Psychologist, Dr. Sherrie is professionally trained to administer and interpret this thoroughly detailed MBTI assessment to help clients understand their personality preferences on a deep and profound level.
Dr. Sherrie Allen saw the possibilities inherent in adopting MBTI as a tool to powerfully benefit interpersonal relationships in ways that had been wholly ignored in its use in personal and romantic relationships until now.
With the common denominator in the professional and interpersonal realm, human beings now have access to power through this useful tool. Dr. Sherrie realized that there was only an upside to applying the MBTI assessment to all phases of intimate relationships, from pursuit to inception to the maturation of the relationship. She understood that even the breakdown of a relationship could benefit from examining all relationships through the lens of Myers-Briggs.
Additionally, Dr. Sherrie focuses on the idea of singles and couples consciously connecting spiritually instead of solely in romantic partnerships. A spiritual partnership is based on Gary Zukav’s book, Spiritual Partnership: The Journey to Authentic Power. Drs. Melvin and Sherrie say, “Modern relationships, for the most part, have evolved beyond the stereotypical relationship model, where the focus is on happiness and freedom from our issues. Spiritual partnership requires focus on the health and well-being of the relationship, and it includes bumping up against our issues in order to grow spiritually. The couple embraces their opportunities to confront their relationship issues in order to individuate and heal old wounds from childhood, rather than focus on what Zukav calls, ‘Physical comfort and safety’."
Her work invites the couple to put their relationship first, barring abuses of any kind, and work on growing spiritually in partnership with each other, which means consciously embracing themselves and their partner and identifying effective pathways to fulfillment on their relationship journey.
Both singles and couples now have access to their personality traits and blind spots as never before. This awareness can inform previously unseen needs and preferences that operate at the core of unconscious behavior and impact all relationships.
